HEAVY DUTY STEEL ROAD PLATES
Secure it. Drive over it. Move it when you’re done.
RAPTA Steel Road Plates provide a durable, reusable crossing surface for temporary access over trenches, excavations and open works.
The standard 25mm steel construction is suited to demanding civil, utility and construction environments. Six 30mm fixing holes allow the plate to be restrained or secured in accordance with the installation requirements.
The 5 t WLL weld-in lifting point allows the plate to be handled from above using a compatible lifting tool. The heavy-duty road plate lifter is available separately.
Choose an uncoated plate or add the optional yellow anti-slip coating to suit the intended application and project requirements.

ROAD PLATES AND CONSTRUCTION PLATES
Steel road plates are also commonly referred to or searched for as construction plates, steel construction plates, trench plates, temporary road plates, traffic plates and excavation cover plates.
Terminology can vary between contractors, industries and locations. Regardless of the name used, the plate configuration must be selected for the intended application and relevant project requirements.
LIFT FROM ABOVE
The 5 t WLL weld-in lifting point is installed in the plate as standard.
Used with the compatible heavy-duty road plate lifter, it allows the plate to be handled from above, helping reduce the need for crowbars or reaching underneath the plate during removal.
The heavy-duty road plate lifter is sold separately.
OPTIONAL YELLOW ANTI-SLIP COATING
RAPTA Road Plates are available with an optional yellow anti-slip coating for applications requiring additional surface treatment.
The required coating and surface performance should be confirmed against the intended use, traffic conditions and applicable project or road authority requirements.
The addition of an anti-slip coating does not, by itself, establish compliance for every road application.
IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
Road plate suitability depends on the complete installation and operating environment, including:
- Expected vehicle and equipment loads
- Unsupported span
- Bearing and edge support
- Plate thickness and dimensions
- Restraint, fixing or anchoring method
- Surface-treatment requirements
- Traffic speed and operating conditions
- Installation and inspection requirements
- Applicable road-authority or project specifications
Customers should confirm the applicable temporary works, engineering, traffic-management and road-authority requirements before selecting and installing road plates.
Provide RAPTA with the expected loads, unsupported span, site conditions, coating preference, quantity and delivery location when requesting a quote.
